Why all the hate?
As a band you often gets criticism. We embrace this criticism, as we think we can always learn and evolve: after all, no one is perfect. Criticism is something we also ask from our fans and listeners, tell us what you like, tell us what you don’t like. It’s mutual respect. That ofcourse doesn’t mean we’ll follow all suggestions, remarks, etc.. But like I said, it just helps to see where we could improve, and sometimes confirm what we’ve been thinking on as well…
But sometimes there are “Virtual Gods” on a digital crusade. People who criticise (should I actually use that word in this case?) without the mindset I described above. They only want to destroy, spread hate, vent…
I said before, I don’t mind criticisim, we embrace it, and we know that it’s valuable to learn from. But with those hateful comments, we’re just left in the dark. We don’t know the true nature, we can’t learn anything from it. In fact it’s plain sad I think…
Here’s a recent example (see picture below) of a comment posted on the wall of our new video “On My Own” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWaiNwqzqTc ).
Now, we normally never respond to such reactions… But I was intrigued, because the person him/herself posted videos on their account as well of music. So surely they should embrace that mindset too I thought, so I replied… And what we got back, well you can read it in the picture above :)… Lastly, we never tagged this music to be “pure ambient”, only god knows where this rage comes from ;)
Finally, I picked out this comment because it keeps startling me how people can be so full of hate towards something or someone they barely know. Apparantly the anonymity of the internet makes people do or say things they’d normally won’t do - be disrespectful, shout. It makes them feel like “GODS”, Virtual Gods for that matter ;) - I’m more and more happy we once made a song about that…
Anyway, to conclude, never ever stop criticising, open your mouth when you feel there’s something bothering you. Speak your mind when there’s things you don’t like, or things you do like. But for the sake of a good conversation, always try to be respectful and true to your values. Because, would you like to be treated that way?

(also, please don’t trash, send hateful comments to his/her way or start a hate campaign - it wouldn’t do any good, and it wouldn’t be in line with what we wrote her above :)).
(ps2: and if you do want to troll, then do it in a good way like CollegeHumor’s Ken M. does in “The Troll” http://www.collegehumor.com/article/6798717/the-troll )
