We arrived back from the Hellektrocution event, part 7 that took place in Le KLub, Paris. Due to the cancelling of Tenebrarum Infanteus, because of a member being ill, Geert de Wilde decided to do a IC 434 surprise gig! (PS: look at the poster for the correct line-up) We had a great time before, during and after the concert!
We played a lot of songs from our new album Eclectric (e.g. Keep Hope Alive, Anger Management, Sweet Hard Revenge, Paranoid, etc..) but also Entertainment Industries, Tired and even Infected & Voltage during the encore.
Below is a video of “Keep Hope Alive” recorded at Le Klub. Expect more vids & pics soon. Thanks Anne-Laure Feral and Fabien Seeman (DJ FFKR) for taking the time to film & record.
We’ve recieved some first positive reviews for our latest album “Eclectric”..

It got great electro tunes like “Keeping Hope Alive” and “Blackhole”. It got great feet moving tracks like “Paranoid” and “Anger Management” (that somehow reminds me of Prodigy), and not to forget the vocoder orgasm with “!AllAboutYou”….”

On our latest album ‘Eclectric‘ we invited some guests to sing and/or write a track with us. We like collaborating, trying out new directions together with another musician or vocalist. Every week we feature one of these collaborations with some information on how it went about, why we chose the artist, some background information on the featured artist, some info on what the track is about and a small teaser video showcasing the track.
The first one we want to introduce to you is Sophie Clareboets, a talented musician and vocalist from Leuven, Belgium. Together with her we made the track ‘Bad Gods Pray’, an effort which dates back since +/- 2007. We fell for Sophie’s exceptional vocal melodies on her solo project ‘Sowphie’. We wanted to create some sort of dirty pop-rock song with filthy synth basslines.
“When I heard the track Yves sent me, I immediately knew the lyrics fitted the track. The vocal harmonies just came out when reading the lyrics” says Sophie and she adds “It was a pleasure working together: fast, pure, correct. I love this combination“.
Sophie is active in her solo project ‘Sowphie’ (www.myspace.com/sowphiesmusic) and in her band ‘Smooth Sofa’ (www.myspace.com/smoothsofa). She’s also working ‘SOWPHIE accoustic’ which will add a drummer, second voice and a bass player to the lot. The track we collaborated on, ‘Psy’Aviah – Bad Gods Pray (feat. Sowphie)’, is released on the ‘Eclectric 2CD Limited Edition‘. Below is a video showcasing the song.
It’s official now, our new album ‘Eclectric’ and accompanying ‘Eclectric Deluxe Edition (+bonus CD Eclectricism)’ will be released on March the third 2010. Though presales kick off today as of today, so hurry and get your copy now!

Information:
Since their creation in 2003, Belgium’s electronic music trio PSY’AVIAH have always adopted a more open-minded artistic approach to music, by not being pulled by the current trends or other obvious scene expectations. By constructing their musical pallet from their own experiences, exploring multiple subcultures, meeting different people and artists, and incorporating all these numerous impressions and visual influences into their own work, PSY’AVIAH is truly an artistic force to be reckoned with.
A refreshing and successful recipe for this breakthrough new 3rd album so perfectly and aptly titled “Eclectric”! And it’s no surprise to us that PSY’AVIAH hits a very diversified audience with their music reaching fans of electronic music but also of more alternative pop rock tunes and even dark industrial wave.
Emélie’s sensual and emotional female vocals give a delicious taste of purity to Yves’ futuristic vicious synths and ferocious upbeat electronic arrangements. An exploding cocktail of attractions and contradictions braving all the forbidden rules, fusing modern techno with melodic pop rock, poignant dark EBM sequences with ambient relaxing moments.
PSY’AVIAH will surely again perplex music journalists who will desperately trying to pigeonhole them in a specific music genre/category. Regardless of definitions and genres, PSY’AVIAH will above all bring us splendid emotional moments with their more down-tempo moody songs in the likes of “Blackhole”, “Attract/Reject” or yet “Something Evil”, while pushing us straight onto the dancefloors with new club hits “Anger Management”, the provocative “No Excuse” and the dynamic poppy “Keep Hope Alive”.
Faithful to their concept, the Belgian act also continues developing a network of fruitful collaborations bringing us this time impressive results on “Ophélie” featuring Jean-Luc De Meyer of FRONT 242 as guest “poet” and the dancefloor filler “Into The Game” with Jennifer Parkin of AYRIA as lead vocalist.
The deluxe limited edition of the album also features many more collaborations on the “Eclectricism” bonus disc on which PSY’AVIAH dared pushing back all preconceived boundaries they had never explored thus far. Taking the opportunity to display more ENYA-esque moments while going totally harsh dark elektro at other moments. Collaborators include Kristell Lowagie, Sowphie, IC 434, Acylum, Encoder, Sebastian Komor, EX.ES, Dead Errant Soul, Essence Of Mind, Studio-X, Implant…
“Rules are made to be broken”… so don’t wait any longer and get your PSY’AVIAH upgrade today and be ready for some uplifting electric eclecticism…
